Duplicating a policy template

Updated

On the Policy Templates list page, you can create a copy of an existing policy template in the Draft, Enabled, or Disabled state.

Procedure

  1. On the Policy Templates list page, locate the policy template in the Draft, Enabled, or Disabled state.

  2. In the Actions column, click the Actions menu (three-dot icon) next to the policy template row you want to copy, and then select Duplicate. This opens the Duplicate template? pop-up window.

    note

Selecting a policy template row alone doesn't reveal the Duplicate option. You must click the Actions menu (three-dot icon) for that row, and then select Duplicate.

  3. In Template Name, enter a template name for the copy.

  4. In Version, enter a version number for the copy. You can enter a new name or reuse an existing template's name with a different version, because Control Center enforces uniqueness on the name-and-version combination rather than the name alone.

  5. Click Save.

This creates a copy of the policy template with the source template's full configuration, including its description and pre-processing and post-processing policies, and sets its status to Draft regardless of the source template's status (Draft, Enabled, or Disabled). You can then enable, edit, view, duplicate, or delete the new template as needed. During duplication, you can also modify the pre-processing and post-processing policies included in the template.
